We hope that you’ll visit Peachtree so we can introduce ourselves personally. If you do, you’ll find a church that loves God and one another, and would love to have you become part of our community.
What can you expect – in practical terms – if you join us on Sunday morning? Here are a few questions that most visitors have about our church.
What time do worship services start and how long are they?
Peachtree offers a 9 a.m. and 11 a.m services every Sunday. Each service lasts approximately one hour. For more detailed information, please click here.
What is your worship service like?
The 9 a.m. service is the more casual of our two morning worship times. Music selections are often contemporary praise songs, with a few traditional hymns tossed in as well.
The 11 a.m. service is more formal, with pastoral staff wearing robes and Peachtree’s beautiful pipe organ accompanying many of the hymns and songs.
Whether you come at 9 or 11, you can count on being offered communion. Every week we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus by recreating the meal that he shared with his disciples before his crucifixion. The bread and juice, representing his body and blood, are offered to all believers regardless of their background or church membership. Our deacons serve communion to everyone as they sit in the pews, so if you’d rather not partake it’s not a problem -- just pass the tray to the next person.
What about Sunday School?
Peachtree has a Sunday School class for all ages - from the youngest to the oldest. For first-time guests, the Peachtree 101 class is a great introduction to what Peachtree Christian Church is all about (3rd floor library). So whether you are new in your faith or looking to deepen your spiritual walk with Christ, Peachtree has a class for you and your family. Click here to see descriptions of the children's and adult classes we have to offer you.
What should I wear?
As you’ve probably guessed by now, Peachtree isn’t your shorts and flip-flops kind of crowd. Some of our members are old-school and show up in their “Sunday best” every week. Others of us feel fine showing up in pants and a sweater, just like any other “business casual” day of the week. You decide what’s most comfortable for you, and we’ll be glad to see you no matter what you’re wearing.
What will my children do during the service?
If your child is three years old or younger, you can take her to our nursery. Age-appropriate classes (infant, toddlers and preschool) are attended by professional caregivers who will make your child’s stay at Peachtree a fun experience. The nursery is housed on-site in Peachtree’s daycare facility, Peachtree Childtown, so you can be sure that the environment is safe and stimulating. You will be given a pager so that the nursery staff can notify you if your child needs you at any time.
What do the older kids do?
Older children will experience HOLYwood, a child-friendly worship assembly which incorporates biblical storytelling, drama, music, and multi-media. Extended sessions for the children incorporate discussion and follow-up activites for their lessons.
Children's Music is also an integral part of our Sunday morning experience. We offer graded choirs for all the children.
Middle School and High School youth meet separately on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 hour for Sunday School. Their age appropriate Bible-based curriculum serves as a tool to help them connect with one another and with Jesus Christ.
