Our beautiful sanctuary has been the site for more than 8,000 weddings since it was built in the 1920’s. We haven’t done an official poll, but we’re pretty sure that puts us right at the top of Atlanta’s most popular places to get married. The Peachtree building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and has been featured in Bride.

While the appearance of our building is the major reason people choose Peachtree for their wedding, getting married at our church is a beautiful experience for many reasons besides the stained glass windows.

Peachtree Christian Church (PCC) welcomes you in planning a wedding here. This is an important ministry of our church, which seeks to extend the Grace and Love of God to you. We invite any couple seeking a Christian ceremony, both members and non-members, to have their ceremony in the sacred beauty of our building. We want to extend every possible courtesy to wedding parties, and maintain the high standards associated with weddings in this church.

Planning Your Wedding

Our sanctuary seats approximately 500 guests. The Chapel will seat approximately 90 people. The scheduling of the wedding and the rehearsal should be made through the Wedding Coordinator by calling the church office at 404-876-5535, or by email: weddings@peachtree.org. Wedding dates cannot be confirmed and placed on the church calendar without a completed Wedding Information Form and deposit check. A 50% deposit is required to confirm and reserve any date (all checks should be made to Peachtree Christian Church). The balance for the wedding is due ten days prior to the wedding.

Weddings are generally held on Saturdays at either 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. Occasionally, a wedding may be held at 4:00 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon.

We try to accommodate everyone for his or her first choice of date and time. Please understand that this is not always possible. Weddings will not be scheduled during Holy Week and Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Additional fees may apply for weddings reserved during other holiday weekends.

Once your wedding date has been approved and the deposit received, the Wedding Coordinator will schedule your visits with the Senior Minister. Four conferences will be held with the couple before the ceremony takes place. These sessions are helpful in preparing for one of life?s greatest decisions.

Wedding Music

Music is a very important part of the ceremony and should be in keeping with the sacredness and dignity of Christian worship. An organist is provided for your wedding by PCC. Brides should plan to meet with the Minister of Music, Rev. Jim Bell, at least 30 days before the wedding. Rev. Bell approves all final decisions regarding the music, musicians, and soloists. PCC does not permit recorded music on tape or compact disc. In addition, Rev. Bell will engage additional musicians to perform for your wedding such as trumpet, cello, bagpipes, children's chorus, etc.

Wedding Facilities and Fees

The fees for non-member weddings held in the sanctuary are $3,200 and $1,990 in the chapel. A portion of these fees are waived for members of PCC that have been active for a year or more. Fees provide use of the church facilities for the rehearsal and wedding, dressing rooms, utilities and parking and include the services of the pastor, the organist, candelabras and candles, unity candle, and kneeling bench. An additional gift to ministers and/or musicians is at the discretion of the bridal party. chapelWedding Guild volunteers will provide assistance to the pastor at the rehearsal and to the wedding party on the day of the wedding. Flower arrangements are the responsibility of the bride and must be accordance with specific guidelines.

Photography and Video

The wedding is a worship service. All photographers are asked to hold in reverence the ceremony and the place. Pictures of the wedding party may begin 2 hours before the wedding. While the ceremony is in progress, flash pictures may not be made. All pictures not requiring flash may be made from the rear balcony of the sanctuary or from the rear of the chapel. Movement and distractions should be kept to a minimum. Photography is not permitted from inside the sanctuary during the ceremony. Limited pictures of the bride and wedding party may be made from the narthex (not the center aisle) during the processional.

If a video is to be made, cameras may be placed in the side aisles no closer to the chancel than the first columns. Movement should be kept to a minimum. Remote cameras may be placed in the front and rear balcony.
