New Sermon Series:
The Christian Seasons: Making His Story Our Story
With the New Year starts a new sermon series by Senior Pastor Dr. Barry McCarty. “The Christian Seasons: Making His Story Our Story,” will focus on the seasons of the Christian year, beginning with Epiphany.
Our weekly Bible readings and sermon texts will come from the Revised Common Lectionary which is tied to the Christian year.
Jan. 8 (Epiphany) Wise Men Still Seek Him
Jan. 15 Come and See (This passage is the first of two call narratives in this season as Jesus calls Philip and Nathaniel to follow him and experience life as his disciples.)
Jan. 22 I Will Make You Fishers of Men
Jan. 29 The Power to Heal (Jesus encounters a man with an unclean spirit and sets him free)

Searching the Scriptures
Please go with us this year as we start our “Searching the Scriptures” New Testament reading plan Sept. 13. Each week we will explore five chapters of the New Testament, followed by time to reflect and study what we have read. Each Sunday Dr. McCarty will give a sermon based on one of the chapters. By Sept. 13, 2011, we will have read the entire New Testament together! Download the reading plan here.
