It is Holy Week, my friends. Our Lenten pilgrimage with Jesus has been long and illuminating. It has taken us into the wilderness for testing, into the truth revealed in nighttime conversations, into unexpected encounters at unlikely wells, into moments where sight is restored, and into places that were not easy—but deeply formative. Along the way, we’ve learned the power of symbolic practices, and now, this week, the journey leads us to what makes life truly life. But before we walk with the two Marys to the empty tomb and step into the light of God, we are invited to gather our strength together. On Maundy Thursday, we will meet in homes across our city—taking the altar out into the world—to share a meal, a liturgy, and Holy Communion together. On Good Friday, we invite you to: And then, of course, we come to Easter, where we celebrate the resurrection together in joyful worship. Each of these gatherings is a meaningful opportunity—not only for your own walk with Christ, but also to invite a friend, family member, or neighbor. As we continue to grow as a church, let’s take seriously the call to share the heart of Christ in the heart of the city. I look forward to walking this holy journey with you. God bless, Pastor Jarrod

Wed | April 15 - June 10 | 7-8:30pm | Online Do you ever feel like your Bible reading gets lost in the weeds? Or that you know passages here and there, but you are missing “the big picture,” “the sweep of things.” Have you ever found yourself asking, “Was this before or after Jesus?” Or, perhaps, you have even wondered, “What could this Bible passage possibly have to do with me?” Then this series is for you! Our study guide will be, “The Unfolding Drama of the Bible,” by the late Prof. Bernhard Anderson. From the back cover: “In ‘The Unfolding Drama of the Bible’ renowned Biblical scholar Bernhard Anderson declares that one does not have to be a convinced Christian “before anything can be gotten out of the study of the Bible….The only condition for fruitful Bible study is that you come with an infinite concern about the question ‘What is the meaning of my life, and the historical crisis in which I and my community are involved?’” Bernhard Anderson was Professor of Old Testament Emeritus at Princeton Theological Seminary. Using his highly accessible study guide, we will engage “the full sweep of the Bible from beginning to end.” His book will lead us through Scripture as it lays out an overarching narrative about salvation history, our place in it, and God’s sovereignty over it. Students are encouraged to attend each week prepared to discuss the chapter assigned for that week (about 8 pages) and the Bible passages that the chapter covers (usually, about five chapters of Scripture). Please, order your own copy of the guide which is available from several on-line sources. Be sure to get the fourth edition (2006). It costs about $20. If the cost is prohibitive, please contact Rev. Gignilliat; the church does offer scholarships.

Sundays | April 26 - May 17 What does it mean to follow Christ in a world where Christianity no longer holds cultural influence? In many ways, our moment looks less like a “post-Christian” age and more like the earliest days of the church—when Christian communities were small, often overlooked, and learning how to live faithfully without relying on cultural power. In this series, Listen to Peter: Notes on Doing Christianity, we turn to Peter’s first epistle for wisdom on how to live with hope, holiness, and courage in such a world.
